The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a grand entrance into the electoral fray by unveiling its much-anticipated election manifesto, known as the “Sankalp Patra,” on April 14. The event, graced by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, marked a pivotal moment in the party’s campaign strategy for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

One of the standout promises in the manifesto is the introduction of “One nation, one election” along with a common electoral roll system, aiming to streamline the electoral process and ensure uniformity across the nation. Additionally, the BJP pledged to enact a stringent law against exam paper leaks, addressing a significant concern in the education sector.

The meticulous crafting of the manifesto, overseen by the Election Manifesto Committee chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, received immense public participation, with over 1.5 million recommendations pouring in, including inputs from the NaMo app and video submissions.

The committee, comprising 27 members, saw key figures like Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as the coordinator and Union Minister Piyush Goyal as the co-coordinator, alongside 24 other members. This collaborative effort aimed to encapsulate the diverse voices and aspirations of the Indian populace.

However, the manifesto’s unveiling wasn’t without criticism, as Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah pointed out the BJP’s track record in fulfilling promises, citing unmet commitments from their previous manifesto in 2018. Amidst these contrasting views, the BJP remains steadfast in its vision, expressing a commitment to national interests with a global perspective, as articulated by Union Minister Jitendra Singh.

“The manifesto is based on the legacy of the last 10 years and reflects the vision of the future 25 years,” remarked Singh, highlighting the foundation of strong leadership, organizational prowess, and resolute willpower under Prime Minister Modi’s tenure.

As the political landscape heats up with contrasting promises and visions, the stage is set for a rigorous electoral battle, where the BJP’s “Sankalp Patra” aims to navigate India towards a promising future while facing scrutiny and challenges from opposition parties.
